Today, I’m gonna show you how to install Magento 2 on your server using runcloud. This guide is targeted on current Magento users and users who are completely new to Magento. Now, let’s get started!
Part 1: Runcloud Set Up
Sign In to your runcloud.io account.
On the runcloud dashboard click on the server where you want to install Magento.
Click on Web Application on the left sidebar.
Click on Create Web App button.
On the Add new Application page choose “Custom Web Application”
Fill in the necessary details. Set PHP Version into 7.2. Then click “Add Web Application (the name of your magento web app)”.
On your Web App dashboard left side bar. Click on Settings.
Set the Max execution time to 300, Max input time to 180, and Memory limit to 1024 MB. Then Click Update Web Application Button. After confirmation appear. Click on Back to Web Apps.
On the Web Application Dashboard. Click on Database from the left side bar.
Click on Create Database and fill up database name (make sure to remember the database name) and Click Add Database button.
Next Click on Create Database User and fill up necessary information (make sure to remember username and password).Then Click Add User.
Click on Grant User next to the database that you’ve just recently created.
Select the User that we’ve just recently created then click Grant Button.
Now our Magento Web App Set up on runcloud is done we can now proceed in putting in Magento file.
Part 2: Magento Set Up
Download Magento from https://magento.com/tech-resources/download
When file download is done extract the file and open your WinSCP (or any FTP software you are going to use to transfer file in your server) and log in your credentials.
Put the extracted file on the Magento Webapp folder inside our server webapps folder.
Wait till it finish importing. Then Open the domain name we are using for the magento webapp on your browser.
Now we are on the Magento Set Up Page we will now install Magento.
First Step of our installation just click “Start Readiness Check”.
After its completed just click Next.
Fill in Database Name info we made earlier also the Database User granted for the database. Then click Next.
Just click Next if you don’t wanna make changes in the configuration step.
Set timezone, Currency and language for your Magento Store. Then click Next.
Fill in information then click Next.
Now click Install Now to start installing Magento. Wait till its done.
The installation will take awhile to complete.
After installation is done we can now view our Magento Web App and start exploring or customizing front-end and back-end features.
